Where the Hubs put his foot through the ceiling of the foyer while working in the attic. And where two stubborn little girls have spent too many timeouts in that corner.
Big Sis took her first steps in this living room. Many dance parties and lazy Saturday afternoons on the couch have happened here as well. I always said we would replace that hideous green tile around the fireplace but looks like the new owners can do that now.
Lil Miss crawled for the first time in this nursery. I spent Big Sis's first night home from the hospital pacing this room and crying because my hormones were at a dangerously high crazy lady level. Countless nights I spent rocking the girls in this nursery and singing You Are My Sunshine to Big Sis and Lullabye to Lil Miss. Still their favorite songs.
This kitchen has been the setting for thousands of meals with family and friends surrounded sometimes by laughter and sometimes by pleas for my kids to at least try one bite of the dinner I cooked before annoiuncing that they don't like it. There have been food fights in here, and fights over who gets to sit next to Daddy, and sweet little blessings said by sweet little voices, and first bites of real food, and skint knees bandaged by Dr. Mommy. The kitchen really is the heart of a home.
This dining room spent most of it's time covered in fabric and thread and patterns because it doubled as my sewing room. It was always messy and in full view of the living areas! It was transformed back to a dining room while on the market which hurt...a lot. One of my must haves for our new house is a sewing room all to myself and my sweet Hubs has been very understanding and accomdating. Love him for supporting my hobby. :)
For the last year we have been absolutely dying to get into a bigger house but now that we have just a little over two weeks left before we hand the keys to it's new owners I am getting all emotional about the memories we have made here. I know we will make new memories in our new home but I wonder if our kids will remember their years here and the loves and laughter shared.
